VA-LEW is an entrepreneurship programme that teaches young people who beg on the streets the importance of creating and giving value. Participants are required to attend a series of workshops on value-creation and entrepreneurship, and given basic capital to start a business of their choice. For a year, the growth and development the participants is closely monitored.
The aim of the programme is to mitigate the negative effects that begging could have on the minds or young people by teaching them to create and give value in exchange for money. As the founder of Vegan Attempts, I would like to help give young people the invaluable feeling that they have earned the money they receive through their hard work.
